Positions and Roles of Players
Think of the court like a dance floor – everyone has a role, and the moves change as you rotate!
Front Row Players
Outside Hitter:The power hitter, ready to spike from the left side
Middle Blocker:The all-rounder in the middle, blocking and attacking!
Opposite Hitter:Another strong attacker, but they play on the right
Back Row Players
Left Back & Right Back:They guard the court and receive the opponent's attacks
Libero:The defensive hero in a different colored jersey – they dig up the ball and keep the play alive
Setter:The court's mastermind, setting up perfect balls for the hitters to spike
Basic Game Rules
Essential rules every volleyball player should know
Scoring System
Games are played in sets to 25 points (must win by 2). Best of 5 sets wins the match.
Bump, Set, Spike!
Teams have 3 touches to get the ball over the net. This classic sequence is volleyball's foundation.
Rotations
After winning the serve, all players rotate clockwise. This keeps everyone moving and trying different positions!
Serving Rules
Serve from behind the back line. You get one chance to get it over the net and in bounds.
Net Rules
Don't touch the net during play! The ball can touch the net on its way over, but players cannot.
Rally Scoring
Every rally results in a point for someone. No more side-out scoring - every play matters!
