Play smart. Pass well. Score more.
What is basketball?
Basketball is a five-player team sport in which two teams compete to score by shooting the ball through the opposing team's hoop. Players advance the ball by dribbling and passing, and the game is played across positions that each require a distinct combination of speed, strength, and decision-making.
Basketball is one of the most widely played youth sports in Canada, with programs available in every province for both girls and boys from beginner through to elite competitive levels. Its accessibility — all you need is a ball and a hoop — combined with its fast pace and team-first culture make it one of the most popular choices for families starting their child in organized sport.

Four reasons parents come back every season.
A sport for every body
Basketball rewards a wide range of physical types — quickness, height, strength, and court intelligence all contribute equally. No single body type dominates the game.
Fast, fun, and social
The pace of basketball keeps every player engaged every minute. Games move quickly, teammates communicate constantly, and the culture of the sport builds friendships fast.
Develops real-world skills
Decision-making under pressure, reading teammates, adapting in real time — basketball builds the kind of thinking skills that transfer well beyond the court.
Great sport creates great friendships
Athletes often join for the basketball and stay for the friends. Local competition keeps the community tight — the same faces, the same courts, the same Saturday mornings.
The Vision Difference
Five things every Vision Elite basketball family can count on — in every program, every session, every season.
The Vision basketball formula
We train basketball players using a netball-basketball hybrid model. By removing dribbling from a significant portion of our training sessions, we force athletes to develop exceptional passing accuracy, court vision, and movement without the ball. The result is a player who understands the game at a depth that dribble-first training rarely produces.
