Volleyball begins expanding through University of Calgary (UCalgary) programs and Calgary high schools. The establishment of organized university competition helps set a foundation for the sport in southern Alberta.

Volleyball Alberta begins formalizing athlete identification and training structures, with Calgary becoming one of the key centers. This marks the beginning of a stronger stream of provincial-level athletes and coaches.

Major clubs such as the Canuck Stuff Volleyball Club grow, helping Calgary become one of Canada's strongest club-volleyball markets. Calgary becomes known for producing national-team athletes, university recruits, and high-performance juniors. Community leagues expand aggressively, especially adult co-ed programs.

Calgary hosts multiple Volleyball Alberta Provincials, expanding to large multi-court venues. Local facilities such as the Volleydome and high-school fieldhouses support surging demand. These years solidify Calgary as a reliable host city for large-scale competitions.

Calgary sees one of Canada's first multi-court, volleyball-specific private facilities. This development enables year-round training, fueling club expansion and athlete development at unprecedented levels.

The University of Calgary Dinos host and compete in major Canada West and U SPORTS events. Calgary becomes a common host for provincial/national university tournaments, strengthening the city's reputation for elite volleyball.

Calgary hosts Youth Nationals (14U–18U) at the BMO Centre / Calgary Stampede Grounds. The event brings thousands of athletes and families to the city and positions Calgary as a top-tier host for large events.

Calgary hosts international beach and indoor events affiliated with NORCECA, including stopovers for beach tours. Calgary athletes, coaches, and officials are featured prominently on the international stage.

Calgary hosts repeated age-group Volleyball Canada Nationals, with further expansion into additional halls at Stampede Park. Introduction of more year-round programs: academies, school partnerships, club expansions, and private training centers. Calgary emerges as a Western Canadian volleyball powerhouse for events, athlete production, and facility development.
